So if you follow me on any sort of social media (ex. Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr) or if you saw this blog post last week, you know that I spent part of my Labor Day weekend outside in the sun!
I spent the weekend at a few parks in Atlanta, attending Imagine Music Festival, a new festival hosted in Atlanta over Labor Day weekend. Boy, was it worth it! I don’t get many chances to go to music festivals. Mostly because I simply don’t have the time. This was the best festival I have ever gotten the chance to attend, hands down!!
I was super late to the festival. Unfortunately, I only made it to the second day, but my gosh was it amazing!! I came in and saw the crowd at the main stage. So, I quickly darted my way to the side stages where I found some of the DJs playing some great music, and people lounging, dancing, talking, and just enjoying the scene. Behind the stage below was a lake with a great IMAGINE sign (that you can see above). The area was beautiful and so calming, even with the music going loud in the background.
I forgot how gorgeous Atlanta can be at some times, so a major thank you goes out to Imagine for picking this amazing and beautiful spot to hold this festival! The festival took place in 3 huge parks in Downtown ATL, and they were in a place where I normally don’t go to, but I really want to go back soon!! Hopefully and possibly for a shoot!
Now onto what you all are here to read about…music. I stayed towards the main stage after I journeyed around for a bit, and when I got to the front, Paper Diamond was in the middle of his set. It was such a great set and a great way to get into the swing of the festival!! I really recommend checking him out, here’s his twitter link! There were so many people and it was quite a journey getting to the front to take my pictures! I wouldn’t take back a second of any of the sweat, bass drop, or fun that I had in the process though!
I don’t remember which set it was, but during one of the sets I was at, I met two awesome guys, who are below, who traveled all of the way from Knoxville to get to the festival!! Like many people they were using GoPros to capture the best from the festival!! I may invest in one for my next festival escapade, but for now, I’m sticking to my Canon and vlogging camera.
I picked up a sweatshirt & hat and hat that you will see later on this week on the blog, and it was cool because they made it on site and I could choose what I wanted and what size without having to worry about paying for something and having the wrong size shipped to me.
The other full set that I saw was Rusko, a British dubstep producer, and I met so many cool people! There were blow up balls and alligators flying EVERYWHERE and the music was super loud and bass filled! Everyone seemed to enjoy the set, and I know I did! The set was really awesome, especially when paired with the insane atmosphere!
Style at IMF was interesting. There was everything from boho hippie to rocker, and in the intense Atlanta end-of-summer-heat, most people were wearing as little clothing as they could get away with. There were crop tops, short shorts, denim, bikinis, regular bras, you name it. I’m posting my outfit later this week, so stay tuned 🙂 x
Wow, I feel like I didn’t do this festival justice, when I read what I wrote before. The only way I can do it is through words. Any of my friends can tell you that words can’t explain how much fun I had. Imagine had everything I could have asked for. Great music, rest areas to rehydrate and relax in, cool style, and much more. There was even a marching band and break dancers running around!
Imagine was genuinely one of the best experiences that I’ve ever had in my life. I’m so thankful that the media crew at Imagine gave me this pass, so thank you again.
I hope you all had a great Labor Day, and if you have a chance to go, GO NEXT YEAR!! You can follow them on Twitter here and find out all the details for next year!
