Okay guys, I hate to say it, but it’s time to go back to school. Whether it’s high school, college, or grad school, it’s time. I’m sad to say so because I had such an amazing time this summer. There are a few ways to make the transition just a little easier on you! Summer is all about fun trying new things right? Well, that doesn’t just have to stop because summer is over. This week, I’m working with essence to share with you a way to keep the fun going once the summer is over!
School can put a dark cloud over any part of the year. It’s time that we choose happiness and make the most out of the time we have. Why not try some fun beauty ideas? Well just in time for school, essence has dropped some new products on us, their new Volume Stylist Mascara and the Metal Shock Lipsticks. I love to have some fun with my makeup looks. I love to have some great fun with how I do my makeup, especially when I go back to college!
When I looked at the Metal Shock Lipsticks, I was scared. I have fun, but I typically stick to my reds or darker colors. I’m adventurous with everything, BUT my lipsticks, so getting this lovely makeup bag full of colored lipsticks, I think my heart rate went up a bit. There are 8 amazing shades. These lipsticks have an amazing cream base, so they don’t dry out my lips! As someone who has the worst luck when it comes to putting on lipsticks that dry out my lips and just having dry lips in general. The metallic finish and glitter really helped make the lipsticks stand out and I did have a couple of shades that I fell in love with, Nos. 3, 5, & 6! It was actually really hard to find a shade that I loved most. All 8 are freaking gorgeous, but these really stuck out to me!
Now, mascara is a must-have for me. I don’t think I could live at school without a good mascara, so getting to try out the Volume Stylist 18h Curl & Hold mascara, AS WELL AS the 18h Lash Extension mascara, have been an absolute dream. The massive brushes on these mascaras made my mouth drop open. The brushes work so well. I almost like to layer them together to not only get extra-long lashes, but also that really great curl! 18 hours is a long time, so this mascara lasts me from when I get up until I get in from a long day of classes and work at the end of the day.
I love having fun and flirty lashes. Even if I’m not wearing makeup, so adding such a large amount of volume to my lashes really helps! These mascaras have been perfect for going back to school and making my eyes look wide open after 4-6 hours of sleep!
If you’re ever in doubt if your makeup look works or not, don’t. We all have different styles. When you find your style, find some lip liner, mascara, and build your confidence. Wear your makeup style with confidence and have fun! essence is SO affordable, so you can test all of the shades to find which you like the most! Price does not have to be a limiting factor when it comes to finding what works for you, and did I mention that essence’s products are all cruelty free?
If you’re interested in buying these essence products, feel free to check out the Metal Shock Lipsticks and the 18h Volume Stylist Mascaras here and use my code JORDAN20 for 20% off of your entire order!
This post was written in conjunction with essence and Her Campus! The blog wouldn’t be possible without their help. I’m so thankful, but also know that my opinions are all my own!

Ooh those lipsticks look so pretty! I don’t wear lipsticks often because I too suffer from dry lips. I hate when lipsticks are too drying, or when they accentuate my dry lips. It can be a struggle. But the creamy texture of this one that you described sounds really nice.
Can’t believe it’s already back to school. Where has the time gone?
