Music has been a part of my life since I was a kid. While my parents mostly focused on religious music or just turned on the first station on the radio, I can say that most of my taste or familiarity with music came from school or my other family members. Rock n’ Roll has been in and out of my life, but at the end of the day, I will say that I do love the genre at my core. I grew up listening to a little of Bob Marley, The Beatles, and other big names in Rock n Roll. I had no idea where many of these big names recorded music while they were in London.
Well, guess what. In the 60’s most of these artists used The BBC Building Kensington House and that is where the K West Hotel and Spa is located today! This hotel is perfectly located in Shepard’s Bush. It breathes the spirit of Rock n’ Roll into everything they do…including a good Afternoon Tea!
During my abnormally short time in London, I was able to experience their Glam Rock Tea. Let me tell you, it was amazing! The afternoon teas are served in the Studio Bar & Kitchen which is a beautiful venue on its own, but when you add in the afternoon tea, it’s a gorgeous venue! The afternoon tea revolves around music. From the moment you get the menu, you see how K West loves its heritage.
The K West afternoon tea has similarities and differences from traditional afternoon teas, but the tea is so tasty. I’m not just talking about the little sandwiches, scones, and other sweets that come on top of the tiered structure. Also the tea itself. K West’s afternoon tea is a special blend, made with black tea leaves, cherry, peppercorn, peonies, and rose petals! How amazing does that sound?
Well, the afternoon tea comes in 3 options: the Glam Rock Afternoon Tea at £24.50 per person, the Glam Rock Prosecco Afternoon Tea at £31.50 per person, and the Rock N’ Cocktails Tea at £36.50 per person and a special Rock ‘n’ Cocktails Midnight Tea served between 10-12am! They serve each tea on vintage record covers. This is paired with brightly colored blue and pink teapots and teacups to serve your tea! Can you find a better link to rock n’ roll? If you’re not looking for tea, they also amazing cocktails that you can get during your time.
There’s an amazing array of food. The hotel has a tasty set of pinwheel sandwiches, with a wide array of mixes from pesto to salmon! There’s a host of scones and jams. I loved them and wanted to sneak them in my bag. These itty bitty shells that held some savory treats as well!
The K West Hotel is located in Shepards Bush, about a 5-6 minute walk from the Shepard’s Bush station, which makes it a great location for a stay (mhhhmmm who knows, maybe a location for my next stay in London?), but also a great place to embrace your inner rock star!
If you’re interested in the afternoon tea, you can call the hotel +44 20 8008 6631 or email bookit@k-west.co.uk and book your Glam Rock Tea!

The way you wrapped this review of the K West afternoon tea was breathtakingly brilliant! You mixed it with history, glamour, nostalgia and personal memories. Next time I’m in London (actually two weeks from now) I’ll be sure to check their afternoon tea out as this was a bedazzling piece of storytelling and I was enchanted by it! Absolutely love it!

The afternoon tea definitely sounds like something I would try! Black tea leaves, cherry and peppercorn all sound yummy and I’m sure the rose petals and peonies add interesting twists to the taste. I would love to try this whenever I have the chance to visit London!
