2017 is almost here. Personally, I can’t believe how much has transpired within the last year, but at the same time, it’s time to stop dwelling on the past and get ready for the new. 2017 is coming and 2016 is almost over, so if 2016 was horrible to you, do a little bit of introspection. Looking at yourself to find a way to improve your life or being goes a long way in the grand scheme of things, so now we need to figure out how to be a better you in the new year. Being a better you does not have to be hard, so I’ve narrowed it down to 5 things that you should implement or try over the next few weeks in order to be the best you in 2017.
1. Love Yourself.
This is probably one of the hardest things to do, especially if you aren’t happy with your current situation. I’ve struggled with this for years, but when you take steps to learn how to love yourself, they really do pay off. Start off the new year by finding out what makes you love you, whether that means putting a sticky note on the bathroom mirror that reads “I Love Me” or saying it to yourself every morning, loving yourself will put you at a greater peace of mind and help you start off the new year on a good note.
2. Get More Organized.
Organization is a struggle for most people. Raise your hands if you find that organization isn’t your strong suit! Being organized in every aspect of your life or blog is a big help when it comes to starting off the new year strong because when you try and plan for the year, you know a general or exact idea of what you need to do to be successful. I’m planning out my blog content for the next 3 months in my planner so I can be consistent since consistency on my blog and Youtube channel were such hardships towards the end of 2016. By being more organized, I will be less stressed in my real life, leading to a better me in 2017.
3. Be Open to New Things.
Say YES! Talk to that cute boy in the coffee shop! Go on that trip that your friends have been begging you to go on! Reach out to that influencer for coffee! By being open to new things, you can change how happy you are. What’s the worst thing that can happen? Someone says no? Don’t be afraid of the new and unknown and short yourself of an amazing experience, because life is funny that way, so you never know what can happen and go right or wrong in the future.
4. Look at Where Life Went Wrong Last Year and Analyze Why.
In my life, I did a lot of things the wrong way. I could have handled a lot of situations and aspects of my year differently and I truly do regret how some things happened. Having a month with nothing but time allows me to introspect on how I reacted to certain things and how I think I can change for the future, which is a major benefit. Looking at where life went awry cannot hurt you, but it can help bring to light some of the reasons or things you need to change. Look deep into yourself and find a way that will help you be the bigger person and deal with these situations, because there is little doubt that they will never come up again in your life.
5. Look At Your Support System…Are You Really Happy With It?
Your support system is everything. Look at your support system and find out who is really supportive and the people you truly want to be in your life. Having a support system that is not constructive or positive to your life and goals can be detrimental because you will spend time focusing on what you need to change in yourself to make these people happy, when in reality, they need to help keep you happy.
Happiness is not something to take for granted and your support system should be supportive (hence the name support system), so you can dwell on the things that actually make you happy and have people who will do everything in their power to help you get there. You don’t have to cut people off, but when it comes down to your ideas, find people who will support you, but tell you where you went wrong or things you need to change. Constructive criticism never hurt anyone, but make sure to find people who are actually providing constructive criticism, not people who just want to rain on your parade.
It’s always hard to make major changes in life, especially when it can turn life upside down, but with the new year coming around, there’s no harm in changing and learning from what went wrong this year. Life is a serious learning curve, so adapt and find how to make your life happier and better. Taking shortcuts in life don’t really pay off, so take the next 2 weeks and find out how to start 2017 on a high note so you can make 2017 the best year possible for you.

I think I’ve got them all pinned down as 1. I’m extremely happy with 2016 2. I am seriously way organized. 3. I always talk to cute boys in coffee shops, haha 4. I analyze my life at the end of every day and see what’s wrong right away. 5. I have a great support system.
But with that said, it’s always great to get a reminder of what’s important as it’s easy to forget these key points in all the holiday hazzle.
Have a wonderful New Years Eve!
xoxo

These are all simple but fantastic steps for a more improved year! reflecting and remembering the mistakes you made and to make sure you don’t repeat them is so so important!! Otherwise it’s hard to grow as a person I think.. and of course, love yourself 🙂

I love number 4. If I look at things that already happened, it’s a good road map for the future. What’s the point of making mistakes or great strides if you don’t learn from them, right?

I totally agree with these tips! Without loving ourselves we aren’t open to new things, and without the support of others we can’t get through the difficulties faced in new opportunities and obstacles xx

Loved the tips especially number one and the third one cause for me thoae are the most difficult ones.I wonder why sometimes our fears take the best of us and prevent us from trying new things?
